How to use Google Maps when you don’t have data!

We know travelling in a foreign country can pose a few challenges sometimes, like having to get around when you don’t always have access to your smartphone data plan or Wifi. We don’t want you to have any issues while you’re in Toronto, so we’ve provided information on how you can download the Toronto map onto your phone, then you can use it to navigate even if you aren’t able to use your data!

The process just takes a few quick clicks:

Firstly, open your Google Maps application and enter ‘Toronto’ in the search bar, then tap ‘Search’ in the bottom right corner.

When the city name pops up, tap on it.

In the top right corner, tap on the three dots (…).

Then, tap on ‘Download offline map’.

Finally, tap ‘Download’ and wait for the map to complete downloading to your phone.

And that’s it! Now you can use Google Maps in Toronto exactly the same way that you would anywhere that you are able to use your data. Have fun, and we look forward to welcoming you to Toronto!
